Benefits of Membership

The Colorado Council for Learning Disabilities (CCLD) is the local affiliate for the Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD). CCLD promotes the goals of the Council for Learning Disabilities in its efforts to build a better future for students with learning disabilities. Members receive two outstanding journals Learning Disability Quarterly and Intervention in School and Clinic.

What does CCLD do in Colorado?

*CCLD plays an important part in the design and development of several statewide conferences. Members get reduced registration fees for all CCLD sponsored events

    • Reading in the Rockies – a conference designed to provide general and special education teachers with the most current evidence-based strategies for teaching reading
    • Courage to Risk – a conference with a focus on how special and general educators can provide opportunities for success for students with disabilities
    • Math on the "Planes" – a math conference for general and special education teachers that provides evidence-based instructional practices with practical, hands-on activities, K-12
    • Odyssey – a series of classes and a culminating conference designed to provide in-depth training for general and special education teachers
      - recent classes have provided a year- long focus on one of the 5 components of reading

*CCLD publishes a newsletter for members 3 times a year with current information about special education issues and activities in Colorado and the nation.

*CCLD provides funding for education research in the area of learning disabilities to Colorado educators.

*CCLD Scholorship Funds support teacher candidate programs throughout the state.
