2018 CCLD Paraeducator of the Year Awarded to Kim Pogue

Kim Pogue

Kim Pogue is the recipient of the 2018 Paraeducator of the Year.  Kim provides academic and behavioral support to students in the third grade at Howbert Elementary School. She supports students with autism as well as other students in the classroom who struggle with learning.

Kim reflects, “ My goal is to observe and learn our kiddos’ likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses and triggers so I can make their learning environment a place that supports their needs and allows them to succeed with less frustration and become independent.”

Danna Lee Oden, a third grade teacher, remarks, “While students on her caseload are her priority, she also welcomes other students in my class to work with her. Pulling in other kids makes for an inclusive and positive environment.”

Bryan Relich, principal at Howbert Elementary, states,” Mrs. Pogue brings professionalism, student-focused decisions and her tireless efforts to give each and every student what they need to be successful each day to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.”

CCLD is honored to recognize Mrs. Pogue as the 2018 Paraprofessional of The Year.
